Official Statement of Optima Hotels & Resorts Regarding Information Disseminated in the Media
In connection with publications that appeared on July 30–31, 2026, Optima Hotels & Resorts considers it necessary to provide an official clarification.
First and foremost, we would like to emphasize that the Company respects the work of the law enforcement authorities of Ukraine and does not comment on the course of criminal proceedings.
At the same time, a number of media publications create the impression that the Ukrainian hotel chain Optima Hotels & Resorts is managed or controlled by a foreign individual mentioned in the respective publications. Such an interpretation does not correspond to the actual changes in the ownership and management structure of the Ukrainian business, which took place long before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, namely in 2017.
In 2023, our hotel chain completed a rebranding process and continued its operations under the Optima Hotels & Resorts brand following the separation of the trademarks used by the Ukrainian and international businesses.
Today, the network’s operations in Ukraine are carried out by Optima Hotel Management LLC, a Ukrainian company incorporated under the laws of Ukraine. The company manages the hotel network, pays taxes in Ukraine, regularly supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine through charitable donations, creates jobs, and continues to fulfill all of its obligations to guests, partners, and the state.
We would also like to emphasize that the ownership and management structure of Optima Hotel Management LLC was established long before the aforementioned publications appeared (in 2017) and is confirmed by information contained in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Associations of Ukraine (the “USR”). Following the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, and certainly after the publication of the aforementioned media materials, the beneficial owner of the Company has not changed.
According to the information contained in the USR, the sole ultimate beneficial owner of Optima Hotel Management LLC since 2017 has been Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Kashutin, a citizen of Ukraine. The members (participants) of the Company are Volodymyr Kashutin and Andrii Dema, both citizens of Ukraine.
These records constitute the official, current, and publicly available information and may be independently verified.
We further emphasize that the current management structure of our hotel chain is determined by the Company’s constituent documents and the information contained in the USR.
Optima Hotels & Resorts continues to operate as usual. All hotels continue to welcome guests, fulfill their contractual obligations, provide employment opportunities for Ukrainians, pay taxes, and contribute to Ukraine’s economy.
We call upon representatives of the media to rely on up-to-date information from official state registers and the Company’s official statements when preparing materials, and to clearly distinguish information relating to criminal proceedings from information regarding the current management structure of the Ukrainian hotel chain Optima Hotels & Resorts.
We would particularly draw the media’s attention to the fact that neither the name of our hotel chain nor the names of its owners or officers are mentioned in any publications on the official websites or Telegram channels of the Security Service of Ukraine or the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Furthermore, we remind all parties that, pursuant to the criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine, the commission of a criminal offense may only be established by a court of law. No person may be deemed guilty of committing a criminal offense until their guilt has been proven in accordance with the law and established by a final and binding court judgment.
Accordingly, we urge the media to refrain from disseminating any unverified or officially unconfirmed information regarding our hotel chain, its owners, and its officers.
Should such information continue to be disseminated, Optima Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to avail itself of all remedies provided under the laws of Ukraine to protect its business reputation, including seeking compensation for reputational damages and demanding a public retraction of any false information disseminated.
